Who should come in but none other than William, the twin brother to Bruce from HIS BANANA. OMG, I thought HIS BANANA was funny, but Ms. Bloom has surpassed even that book. I found myself laughing out loud (I most certainly don’t do that routinely) and people looking at me, like “what was that?” The banter between William and Hailey and ANY other character in this book is OTT funny. LOVED it.
Look for hilarious/memorable scenes from the kitchen at his apartment, the bakery when William comes to help, the masquerade party, the yacht/life boat, at the senior home with Grammy, the apology and the Epilogue. This whole book is wonderful if you like LOL humor, obnoxious parents, crazy ex-girlfriend, obsessive ex-boyfriend, an 85yo pistol called Grammy and a kleptomaniac with a trophy room. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book. Not necessary but you should read HIS BANANA if you haven’t already. All Ms. Bloom’s books come HIGHLY recommended. I always buy them!

Think of a middle school boy trying to write Fifty Shades of Grey. The storyline is predictable from the start. The humor is very childish with the same tired joke references repeated over and over. At least an attempt of cleverness would have been appreciated.I
This had a lot of laughs! He walks into her bakery and 'deflowers' her right then and there. If you've read His Banana, you may remember William. He is Bruce's (the Hero in His Banana) twin brother. He co-owns a successful business with his brother, but he acts as if he doesn't have a care in the world. He's a bit of a wild child, but he has a good heart... when he decides to use it. Hailey is a 25 year old virgin who owns a bakery that is on the verge of being shut down. William is persuasive in his attempts to woo Hailey, after stopping in her shop one day. She's resistant, but he eventually wears her down. There's plenty of humor when it comes to his behavior and mouth. She tries to give as good as she gets, but he is like the energizer bunny, and she's often too exhausted to fight back. There are some side characters that bring a little something to the story as well.... both good and bad. Mostly good, but there were a few bad seeds too. (Can't have everything be all rosey, after all.) There was a big break up scene, though the 'grand gesture' wasn't all that grand. (I kinda felt she gave in too easily.) The plot of the story was good and fun with a couple twists, but there were a few small pieces that felt unfinished, or were written off without much explanation. The actual romance aspect was pretty good. There were only a couple of actual sex scenes, but the sexual language was spread throughout the book. Lots of innuendos and what not. While I found a few 'flaws' (in my opinion) with the way things unfolded, the characters kept me entertained and really helped make the book as enjoyable as it was. It reads rather quickly and the story flows nicely. It alternates between POVs. It does follow His Banana, but can be read as a stand alone with no problems. (You will enjoy some of the jokes (mostly at Bruce's expense) a little more if you've read His Banana first.)
Fun and sexy book about a baker, Hailey who's love life has hit the skids. Her coworker gets her to flirt with the next available guy that enters the bakery. In walks William who gets talked into getting a cherry pie and the innuendo's start flying! Hailey is so taken with William. When William leaves her shop, he takes her flowers (deflowered Hailey - get where I am going here?) and it continues on throughout the book. I loved this story as it had me laughing out loud and really enjoying their banter. I also really liked how Hailey came into her own and was able to give William a run for his money. Definitely recommend this book and the previous one "His Banana" although you don't need to read the first one, it would be helpful to know who other characters are in the story.

...I really liked the first story in this series "His Banana" so I had looked forward to to reading this book.

It has funny moments and the characters are quirky and likable. However, it lacked depth and emotional connection. I never felt invested in the relationship because it didn't feel like a foundation was laid to establish the love between William and Hailey. Not only did their relationship seem to arise out of nowhere, but I didn't get the feeling that Bruce and William had a connection as identical twin brothers either. This book might have worked better (for me) without alternating the points of view between the two characters. Surprisingly, I found that I did not enjoy William's POV because he was so juvenile. Sadly, this book just makes me want to go back and reread the first.
